Refining your nose appearancewith a Rhinoplasty procedure

Being the central feature of the face, the nose should complement rather than distract from one's overall attractiveness. The focus should naturally gravitate towards the eyes and the smile, rather than fixating on a nose that doesn't harmonize with the other features of the face.

Experienced Nose Surgery in Denver: Achieving Aesthetic Balance and Functional Excellence

A rhinoplasty procedure involves surgically shaping the nose to achieve a harmonious facial balance. There are two primary types of rhinoplasty procedures: reduction rhinoplasty, which reduces nose size, and augmentation rhinoplasty, which enlarges a small nose. The choice between them depends on various factors like face shape, ethnicity, height, personality, and individual goals. Ensuring post-surgery nasal function is essential, as rhinoplasty should improve or maintain a patient's ability to breathe. Optimal outcomes result from a surgeon's ability to reshape and reposition nasal cartilage without unnecessary excisions, a skill Dr. Weber excels at.

Dr. Weber's Denver rhinoplasty approach is highly individualized, emphasizing both aesthetics and function. With his contemporary, structured surgical techniques, he consistently delivers satisfying results for both male and female patients. Dr. Weber's commitment to rhinoplasty and ongoing research has positioned him among the nation's leading rhinoplasty surgeons. He has earned recognition as a "Top Rhinoplasty Doctor" by RealSelf.com. Performing three to five rhinoplasty procedures weekly for patients of all ages and genders, Dr. Weber combines his passion, skill, and dedication to create transformative results.

How do I know if I am a good candidate for the rhinoplasty procedure?

Candidates for rhinoplasty in Denver are individuals who are seeking to enhance their nasal aesthetics and functionality. Typically, suitable candidates are healthy, non-smokers, including teenagers and adults, with no significant medical concerns. A positive outlook and reasonable expectations are essential prerequisites for this procedure.

What is Dr. Weber's approach for rhinoplasty

The initial step focuses on ensuring the patient's comfort. Subsequently, either local anesthesia, oral sedation, or general anesthesia, administered by a board-certified anesthesiologist, is provided to the patient for a relaxed state. Once the patient is comfortably asleep or sedated, one of the following approaches is employed to access the nasal structures:

The “open” or external approach

This involves creating a minute external incision on the area of skin between the nostrils beneath the nose. Additional incisions are made inside the nose.

The “closed” or endonasal approach

Tiny incisions are made exclusively on the inside of the nostrils. Dr. Weber then works through these incisions to reshape the nasal bone and cartilage, aligning with the patient's predetermined aesthetic and functional objectives.

The incisions are meticulously closed using dissolving sutures that eliminate the need for removal. There is no packing placed inside the nose during this procedure. To provide support and reduce swelling, a flexible nasal splint is carefully positioned over the newly refined nose. After securing the splint with delicate tape, the procedure is concluded, with a total duration of approximately 60-90 minutes.

What can I expect from my rhinoplasty results?

Visible changes become apparent as the post-surgical swelling subsides. Typically, patients can anticipate observing noticeable enhancements shortly after their initial post-operative checkup. Delicate refinements and subtle improvements will gradually reveal themselves as the healing process unfolds and swelling diminishes throughout the course of one year.

For those who entrust Dr. Weber with their rhinoplasty in Lone Tree, the ultimate outcome is characterized by a nose that appears entirely natural, harmoniously blending with their facial attributes. Naturally, these outcomes are meticulously tailored to align with the unique goals and aspirations of each patient.

There are various changes that patients will request when undergoing rhinoplasty. Some of these include:

  • A change in size (smaller or larger)
  • Straightening and narrowing of the nasal bridge
  • Contouring and refinement of the nasal tip
  • Narrowing and reduction of wide or flared nostrils

After undergoing surgery, patients tend to experience a major boost in self-confidence. Additionally, they experience improvements in breathing and a drop in nasal congestion.

What will my initial consultation with Dr. Weber in Denver be like?

The first part of the initial consultation includes the following:

  • A thorough review of the patient's medical history
  • A physical examination, including "before" pictures
  • A discussion regarding the patient's desired outcome

Rhinoplasty FAQ

Where does Dr. Weber perform rhinoplasty procedures?

Rhinoplasty procedures are performed in one of our office procedure suites or at an ambulatory surgical center.

Are there risks associated with a rhinoplasty procedure?

There are risks associated with all surgical procedures. Risks specific to rhinoplasty include, but are not limited to, the following: nosebleed, infection, breathing difficulties, and swelling. These risks will be explained by Dr. Weber at your initial consultation.

Will I have a visible scar after my procedure?

Once fully healed, incisions usually result in a very fine line that is difficult to detect. Because Dr. Weber strategically places incisions in areas that naturally blend with the skin, patients oftentimes do not notice their scars.

What is the advantage of an open approach? When is the approach used?

The advantage of an open approach is that it allows for maximum exposure. It is typically used to correct an asymmetric or oversized nasal tip. It is also used on almost all patients who require a rhinoplasty revision and a cleft rhinoplasty.

What is the advantage of a closed approach? When is the approach used?

The advantage of a closed approach is that the incisions are hidden inside the nose. It is typically performed for procedures that involve the following:

  • Minor tips changes
  • Removal of a bump on the bridge of the nose
  • Straightening or narrowing the nose

It may also be used for procedures that modify the size and shape of the nostrils.

Can wide or flared nostrils be made more shapely?

Yes. In about one in three rhinoplasty procedures Dr. Weber will perform nostril reduction, also called nasal base reduction. This can make wide nostrils appear more narrow or reduce round, circular-appearing nostrils into a more aesthetically-pleasing pear or teardrop shape. While this is a very common maneuver used in ethnic rhinoplasty, it is also a very powerful tool during any type of rhinoplasty surgery.

Is it important to have my procedure performed by a seasoned rhinoplasty veteran?

Facial Plastic Surgeons who excel in rhinoplasty typically perform the procedure more often than other plastic surgeons. This enables them to develop the surgical skills that ensure consistent results.

How many rhinoplasty procedures does Dr. Weber perform a year?

Dr. Weber typically performs 100-150 rhinoplasty procedures a year.

Are all the rhinoplasty procedures Dr. Weber performs for cosmetic reasons?

Nearly every rhinoplasty that Dr. Weber performs has a cosmetic component. About one in three of Dr. Weber's cosmetic rhinoplasty patients also undergo additional work to improve their breathing.

Why will it take up to a year to see my final result?

Most patients are 95% of the way healed within three months after surgery. The remaining improvements are gradually seen over the course of nine months because it takes time for the nasal cartilage, particularly that of the nasal tip, to adjust to its new shape.

Can I see before and after photos of some of Dr. Weber’s rhinoplasty patients?

Of course! During your initial consultation, Dr. Weber will show you before and after pictures of his Denver rhinoplasty patients who most closely resemble your current nose and the nose that you would like to have.

What should I bring to my initial consultation?

You should bring a list of all the medications you take and a list of the medications you are allergic to. You should also bring a list of questions for Dr. Weber. If you would like to bring pictures for Dr. Weber to review, you may do so.
