If you’re unsatisfied with the shape or size of your nose, you’re far from alone. And although you may have considered the idea of undergoing rhinoplasty, invasive surgery isn’t necessarily the right option for every person. If you’re interested in a non-invasive treatment to improve the appearance of your nose, non-surgical rhinoplasty may be the perfect solution.
What Is Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty?
Non-surgical rhinoplasty is a cosmetic procedure that uses dermal fillers to temporarily improve the shape of the nose. The procedure serves as a non-invasive alternative to traditional nose jobs, but it does have certain limitations when compared to surgical rhinoplasty.
Benefits of Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty
For anyone who isn’t happy with the way their nose looks, non-surgical rhinoplasty can provide some or all of these benefits:
- Non-invasive procedure
- Short recovery downtime
- Improved nasal shape and/or size
- More affordable than traditional rhinoplasty
- If you aren’t pleased with the results, the filler can be removed or modified
- Increased self-confidence
- Improved profile appearance
What Should I Expect During the Procedure?
If you’re considering non-surgical rhinoplasty, the first step in the process will be a consultation with Dr. Weber. He will discuss the procedure with you, ask you about your specific goals, and help you determine if it’s the right treatment for you. The doctor will also need to know about your medical history, allergies, and any medications you’re taking. If you decide to move forward with non-surgical rhinoplasty, Dr. Weber will work with you to devise a comprehensive treatment plan.
Non-surgical rhinoplasty is typically performed as a brief, office based injection procedure. First, Dr. Weber will apply a topical anesthetic to your nose to minimize any pain. Next, he will use a fine needle to inject the dermal filler into the areas of your nose that you want to adjust. These injections will be very precise to achieve the specific changes you desire. On average, the procedure (including numbing) takes around 30-45 minutes to complete.
How Long Is the Recovery Time?
There is very little recovery downtime required after non-surgical rhinoplasty. You may experience some swelling, redness or a small bruise, but you can resume your normal routine pretty much immediately. However, you should avoid strenuous exercise and drinking alcohol for at least 24 hours.
Am I a Candidate for Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty?
If you’re looking for a non-invasive way to improve the appearance of your nose, you might be a candidate for non-surgical rhinoplasty. To be an ideal candidate, you should meet the following requirements:
- Be in good physical health
- Have reasonable expectations
- Have a desire to make subtle adjustments to the shape and/or size of your nose
- Have no active skin infections
- Be free of allergies to hyaluronic acid fillers
